The Trade Union Federation of Railway Workers of the Republic of Moldova on March 4 will mount a protest in front of the Parliament Building and the Presidential Palace in connection with the situation created at the state-owned enterprise “Moldova’s Railways”, IPN reports.
The organizers said the goal of the event is to defend the labor, professional, economic and social rights and interests of 6,500 salary earners of the enterprise. The protesters will demand that the salary arrears for four months (November-February) should be cleared and that they should be compensated for the losses sustained as a result of the late payment of salaries in 2015-2021.
The protest will be staged between 9am and 12 am. Simultaneously, protests will be mounted at seven railway companies – from Ocnița to Giurgiulești.
