The volume of freight transported by trains in the Transnistrian region in the first half of this year increased by 74% compared with the corresponding period last year. According to the Transnistrian administration, the revenues also increased accordingly, IPN reports.

According to “Novyi Region” Agency, 1.8 million tonnes of goods were transported by trains in Transnistria in January-June. The incomes rose by 13 million Transnistrian rubles.  

Two passenger trains run through the Transnistrian region besides the transitory trains. These are Chisinau – Moscow and Chisinau – Odessa. The Saratov-Varna train will start to run in autumn.
