The Supreme Council of Magistracy declared judge Radu Turcanu the winner of the contest to fill the vacancy of president of the Chisinau Court. The candidate is to be accepted or rejected by the Head of State. The information was confirmed for IPN by the Supreme Council of Magistracy’ spokeswoman Carolina Mangir.
Radu Turcanu was the only applicant for the post. Since 2007 until 2014, Turcanu had served as a judge at the Botanica Court of Chisinau. By a presidential decree of October 2012, he was named judge until retirement. By another degree of March 2014, he was appointed as vice president of the Botanica Court for a four-year term. By the decision of the Supreme Council of Magistracy of December 2014, Radu Turcanu was named judge of inquiry at the Botanica Court for the period between December 2014 and December 2017.
