Radu Lefter wins silver at U23 World Weightlifting Championships in Tirana

Moldovan wrestler Radu Lefter won a silver medal at the U23 World Weightlifting Championships held in Tirana, IPN reports.

In the 97kg weight class, he beat the 2021 European vice champion among seniors Sergey Kozyrev, who was born in North Ossetia, Ukrainian of Georgian origin David Mchedlidze and India’s Sahil. In the final, Radu Lefter was defeated by Isaac Trumble of the U.S.

One day earlier, Moldova’s Ion Demian also became U23 world vice champion, in the 92kg weight class.
