Radu Albot wins again
Radu Albot carried on his good form this year. The best-rated Moldovan tennis player qualified for the quarter-finals of the ITF Futures tournament in Turkey, with a prize fund of $10,000.
Albot is the tournament favorite and has obtained easy victories so far. On Friday, February 17, he will meet Belgium’s Yannick Reuter, 457th in the world rankings.
The 22 year old tennis player has had a successful run in the doubles competition as well. The Moldovan duo of Albot and Andrei Ciumac reached the semi-finals.
In 2011, Radu won five Futures tournaments, which moved him up in the world rankings. He is currently Moldova’s highest ranked player: 257th in the ATP rankings.
Earlier this year, Radu Albot participated in his first Grand Slam tournament, Australian Open, where he was eliminated in the second qualification round.
