Moldova’s best tennis player Radu Albot, who takes the 156^th position in the ATP rankings, managed to beat Franc’s 60^th ranked Paul-Henri Mathieu at the tournament in Bucharest, IPN reports.

Albot won by three sets 7-6, 2-6, 6-1. In the quarterfinals, he meets Spain’s Fernando Verdasco, former 7^th placed and currently 86^th placed in the world rankings. The duel between Albot and Verdasco will take place on April 21, starting at 12 noon.

Last year Radu Albot became the first Moldovan tennis player who entered the Top 100 world rankings. He also had a good performance in the doubles.
