Radu Albot, currently ranked 48th worldwide, has reached the main draw of the ATP Masters 1000 Miami Open 2019 tournament. He did this by defeating USA’s Mitchell Krueger (170th) 6-3, 7-5, IPN reports.

In the first qualifying round, Albot defeated Italy’s Gianluigi Quinzi (144th) in two sets. The next round pits the Moldovan against Australian Matthew Ebden, ranked 50th worldwide and winner in the doubles tournament at Australian Open 2013.

The main stars of the Miami tournament are the likes of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem.
