Radu Albot qualifies for second round of Germany tournament

Radu Albot successfully began his performance at the Challenger tournament held in the German town Furth. Moldova’s best tennis player eliminated Thiemo de Bakker of the Netherlands, who is rated the seventh at the competition, after beating him 6-3, 6-2, IPN reports.

In his career, the Dutch player won the Grand Slam tournament of Wimbledon among juniors in 2006. In the second round, Albot meets Brazil’s Guilherme Clezar. This beat one of the favorites of the public – German player Matthias Bachinger – in the inaugural stage by 6-3, 6-0.

So far Albot and Clezar have never dueled. The winner of the Furth tournament will get 90 ATP points and US$6,150.
