After eliminating World No. 13 Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain and the representative of the hosts Christopher O'Connell, Radu Albot lost to the 22-year-old Norwegian player Ruud Casper, World No. 28, 1-6, 7-5, 4-6, 4-6.
The Moldovan tennis player earned about US$165,000 in prize money and will go up in the world rankings, from his current 85th spot.
Today, Radu Albot was eliminated also from the doubles competition. Contending together with Daniel Evans of the UK, the duo lost to Romanian-Brazilian pair Horia Tecău/Marcelo Melo 1-6, 6-7.
