Moldovan tennis player Radu Albot was eliminated from the U.S. Open in the first qualifying round. He was beaten 2-6, 5-7 by Spain’s Adrian Menendez-Maceiras, who ranks 184th in the world, IPN reports.
The U.S. Open is the last Grand Slam competition this year. Radu Albot didn’t manage to win one of the three top places at the Grand Slam competitions of 2013. He achieved the best result at the Australian Open, where he qualified for the second preliminary round. At the Wimbledon, he was eliminated in the first qualifying round. He hasn’t yet competed in the Roland Garros competition.
Currently, the Moldovan athlete comes 200th in the ATP rankings.
