Radu Albot failed to qualify for the 1/8 finals of the Grand Slam tournament Australian Open. The Moldovan tennis player was beaten by World No. 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany by 3-6, 4-6, 4-6, IPN reports.
Zverev, who medaled gold at the Tokyo Olympic Games, this way qualified for the next stage without losing any set at the competition so far.
Radu Albot, 32, currently takes the 124th spot in the world rankings after reaching the best place in his career (39th) in 2019. That year, Albot played against Zverev at the US Open and lost to him by five sets.
