Radio Moldova to broadcast Eufrosinia Kersnovskaya's Gulag memoirs

Eufrosinia Kersnovskaya's Diaries, a project by historian Valeriu Pasat, will be broadcast in a series on Radio Moldova starting Tuesday evening at 20:45, Info-Prim Neo reports. The series will be preceded by a premiere presentation on Radio Moldova tonight at 20:35, featuring Valeriu Pasat and Svetlana Sirbu. Eufrosinia Kersnovskaya was a member of the Russian gentry who lived in Bessarabia before being exiled to the Soviet Gulag camps, where she spent 11 years. After discharge in 1953, she struggled for rehabilitation for 38 years. Her memoirs, recorded in 12 notebooks, have been published in Russian under the title “How Much a Life Costs”. The book contains unique archive documents and was published as part of a research project by historian Valeriu Pasat. The memoirs, accompanied by a collection of Kersnovskaya's drawings, were exhibited at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
