Radio Moldova has a director

The Supervisory Board of the National Public Broadcaster “Teleradio-Moldova” chose the new director of Radio Moldova. This is the current acting head of the company Veaceslav Gheorghisenco. Six of the nine members of the Supervisory Board voted for this, IPN reports.

There were three contenders for this post. The editor-in-chief of Radio News Department Adrian Petcu and former presidential adviser on communication Vlad Turcanu got by one vote. One of the Board members abstained, while the other six voted for Veaceslav Gheorghisenco.

Presenting his project, Gheorghisenco said he aims to make the public radio station appreciated by the public. He will start wok by thinking up and implementing a plan of action and by adopting regulations that will specify the method of ensuring pluralism in programs. He will also launch the project Radio Moldova Children, will attract investments and will make sure that the sound is of a high quality. “I will insist on carrying out audience studies. Based on these, we will work out the broadcast schedule. We will open a permanent training center at the institution. We should have more units of correspondents,” he stated.

Veaceslav Gheorghisenco started his career at the national TV channel in 1992. In 1993-1994, he worked as a freelance reporter for Radio Moldova and later held the post of editor of artistic radio programs. In 2007-2010, he managed Radio Moldova and then was first vide director of the Radio Projects Department. In 2014, he held the post of head of the radio programs service “Moldova Actualitati” of “Teleradio-Moldova”, while in 2015 took up the post of director of Radio Moldova on an interim basis.

The director of Radio Moldova is named for a five-year term.
