The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations urges the people to avoid the R 34 Hâncești-Leova, Leova-Iargara route, which became dangerous for travel as a result of the heavy rainfall. The most affected sections are km 45 – the entrance to Sărata Nouă, km 47 – Sărata Noua G 125 and km 53 – Leova-Sărata Nouă. The State Road Administration said the level of water exceeds one meter in these areas. Traveling is dangerous and was prohibited, IPN reports.
Drivers are urged to choose the route to Comrat to avoid risk situations.
Starting with the morning of September 14, employees of the specialized services dealt with at least 26 situations to pump water from people’s yards. The works were carried out in the districts of Cantemir, Leova, Hâncești, Cimișlia and Ștefan Vodă. Rescuers are on the scene to help prevent unfavorable consequences of exceptional situations.
The population is further urged to be cautious, to carefully follow the weather forecasts, to avoid traveling on difficult routes and to carefully monitor their children. Drivers are encouraged to set off only in urgent cases. In risk situations, the people are urged to immediately call the 112 Service.
