Quorum not present, CMC meeting adjourned
The meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) scheduled for Friday at the suggestion of a group of councilors did not take place as the quorum was not present. The councilors that entered the Parliament were to announce if they keep the seats of MP or the post of municipal councilor, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The decisions included in the agenda are very important. The fact that the councilors of the Communist Party (PCRM) and of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (PPCD) did not come to the meeting shows that they do not care about people’ problems,” said Ion Ciobanu, councilor representing the Liberal Party (PL).
The leader of the PL faction Corina Fusu described the absence of a part of councilors as “boycott of the CMC”. “Today, it is the last day when the councilors that are also MPs can vote. The councilors on behalf of the PCRM and PPCD did not come intentionally,” Fusu said.
Several councilors asked the secretariat to contact representatives of the absent factions. The CMC secretary Valeriu Didencu informed that the leader of the PCRM faction Svetlana Popa said her faction decided not take part in the meeting, while the mobile phone of the leader of the PPCD faction Alexandru Corduneanu was closed.
The date of a new CMC meeting will be fixed later.
