Questionnaire of European Commission will reach Moldovan authorities April 11

Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, on April 11 will receive the Questionnaire  of the European Commission concerning Moldova’s application for EU membership. Next Monday Popescu will travel to Luxemburg where he will have a meeting with Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi on the sidelines of the meeting of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council, IPN reports.

“The filling out of this Questionnaire, which is essential for the entry into the European Union, will necessitate an enormous institutional effort, but I’m convinced that together with the Government team and the involved national institutions, we will manage to successfully systemize all the requested information about the functioning of the state, transposition of the European legislation, and the current policies,” said Nicu Popescu. He noted that Moldova step by step is coming closer to the EU.

Moldova’s application to join the European Union was signed by President Maia Sandu, Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița on March 3 following similar decisions taken by Ukraine and Georgia.
