Owing to high temperatures and the streaming down of pluvial waters as a result of floods, the quality of water in the Nistru River has worsened. Such a warning was issued by the deputy chief doctor of the Municipal Preventive Medicine Center, Eudochia Tcaci, at Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The access to the beach is banned and no swimming is allowed in the river even if the beach is properly outfitted,” Eudochia Tcaci said. According to her, the quality of water usually worsens at the end of summer, but this year the situation is worse. Constantin Becciev, the head of the water supplier Apa-Canal Chisinau SA, assured that the quality of the drinking water will remain the same. He said that the company’s specialists are ready to cope with such challenges. The works to fit up the flood-hit recreational area in Vadul lui Voda town go on. The head of the municipal Green Spaces Administration Association, Eliferie Haruta, said that 68 holiday resorts and about 166 hectares of forest have been disinfected until present. There were collected large quantities of household waste. Most of the economic entities have been reconnected to the power supply system. The others will be reconnected during the next three-four days.
