The municipal authorities intend to implement the pyrolysis method for transforming the mud collected in the capital city into dust that will not have an unpleasant smell. In the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services, the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said he is waiting for an answer as to co-financing from the central public authorities, IPN reports.

The mayor noted the extension of the sewerage services to the suburban localities will lead to a rise in the volume of collected mud from 100 m3 to 160-200 m3 daily. This is a danger that can lead to an environmental disaster.

Acting director of “Apă-Canal Chisinau” Anatolie Likii said the works at the Chisinau wastewater treatment station continue. They have considered the possibility of increasing the number of workers at the building site by 15 persons through the employment office.

About 60 employees are now working daily at the Chisinau wastewater treatment station.
