The public procurement processes to buy food products for Chisinau education institutions will be checked by a working group that will be set up by order of mayor Ion Ceban, IPN reports.

“There is a disaster in this area. I do not understand why the government procurement in the alimentation of children is still the responsibility of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport of Chisinau. All the relevant observations and suggestions will be taken into account and analyzed,” stated Ion Ceban.

He noted that a working group that will also include representatives of the Government and Parliament will be created to amend the legislation. The goal of the initiative is to clarify things concerning the collection of illegal taxes in education institutions in Chisinau. There will be launched an anticorruption line for parents to report cases of abuse in the schools and kindergartens of the capital city.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu made an approach to the mayor of Chisinau, saying he will serve the fish with worms from the meals of kids in 2020, if there is such, to the chiefs responsible for government procurement in the capital city. “The crimes against the children should remain in the past. The given possibility refers not only to the officials from the municipality of course,” he stated.
