PUN to elect its administration

The National Unity Party (PUN) holds its second Extraordinary Congress on December 7, starting at 3pm.

Contacted by IPN, PUN executive president Anatol Șalaru said the agenda includes the election of the party’s administration. Asked if MP Octavian Țîcu, who ran for mayor of Chisinau on behalf of the PUN, will take part in the event, the politician said the MP was invited to the event and the proposal to take over the party made to him is still valid.

The congress is to also make changes to the statutes and program of the party. It was suggested replacing the post of executive president of the party with that of secretary general.

The National Unity Party was founded in February 2016 and is a party that promotes Moldova’s reunification with Romania. The party has two executive presidents: Anatol Șalaru and Ana Guțu. Former President of Romania Traian Băsescu is its president of honor.
