The National Unity Party (PUN) started its campaign for the July 11 snap parliamentary elections. The launch was held in Europe Square of the Public Garden “Stephan the Great and Holy” and began with the playing of the national anthems of Moldova and Romania, IPN reports.
PUN leader Octavian Țîcu said the union is a historical right to reunite with the rest of the Romanians. Romanian’s Parliament on March 27, 2018 said it clearly that it is ready to ensure the union with the Republic of Moldova and this document waits for a reply from Moldova’s Parliament. The next Parliament of Moldova has the historical mission of voting the union with Romania. “We have who to forge the union with and we know how,” stated Octavian Țîcu.
PUN vice president Ana Guțu, university teacher, said PUN wants the elections of July 11 to generate a pro-Western majority and a Romanian and pro-Western government. The PUN is a Romanian party that honors the pro-Romanian values and wants Moldova to form part of the EU and NATO, together with Romania. The Communists and the Socialists are the opponents of the PUN in this campaign and their party can form only a pro-Western parliamentary majority.
Candidate for MP Iurie Reniță said the promotion of the balanced foreign policy model means acceptance of the exclusive interest influence of Russia. This model of duplicitous and inconsistent policy should be eliminated once and for all so as to really improve the living conditions and to return to the big Romanian, European and Euro-Atlantic family Moldova’s bilateral and multilateral diplomacy should be aimed at pursing an active, consistent nd credible foreign policy. In this regard, Moldova needs the support of Romania, the EU and the U.S. The candidate called on the citizens from home and from the diaspora to vote for the PUN, which is for a prosperous and safe future of the country.
