Books, albums, monographs and other publications that describe and highlight the cultural heritage of Moldova and are kept in the archives of the National Library will be on display by the middle of February. The exhibition was opened on the National Culture Day celebrated on January 15, when the great Romanian poet Mihai Eminescu was born.
Director general of the National Library Elena Pintilei has told IPN that the institution she heads by this exhibition decided to emphasize the gathered collections that put to good use the cultural heritage of the Republic of Moldova. “The exhibits include albums about churches and monasteries, monographs and publications that describe our tangible and intangible cultural heritage,” stated Elena Pintilei.
She noted that the exhibition also highlights the book heritage of the National Library and raises awareness of the necessity of developing the cultural heritage.
Elena Pintilei reminded also of a decision by the European Parliament by which 2018 was declared the European Year of Cultural Heritage.
