The drivers who park in the water supply and sewerage networks protection areas run the risk of having their vehicles towed away. SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” warns that the illegal parking causes not only congestion and accidents, but also obstacles to performing works to deal with network accidents. In such situations, the public utility, in concert with the police, will draw up reports for having the vehicles relocated so as to execute the works without delay, IPN reports.
In a press release, “Apa-Canal Chisinau” says a recent case happened in on Dacia Blvd in Botanica district of Chisinau. Though the company’s workers were on the spot immediately to perform repair works on a water pipe, the works were delayed because a car parked illegally on the lawn blocked access to the pipe. To find the vehicle’s owner, the company sought help from the police, representatives of the local authorities also being invited to the scene.
A similar case occurred on Kiev St, where a car was parked on a water pipes intervention well. Cars are also parked above hydrants and the firefighters’ access to them is thus limited.
“Apa-Canal Chisinau” calls on the managers of municipal companies and dwellers associations to inform the dwellers about the necessity of parking the vehicles legally so as not to cause impediments to the emergency services.
