The circulation of public transport in Chisinau was resumed. The municipality announced that on Tuesday and Wednesday, trolleybuses and buses will run according to Sunday schedules, with small adjustments, IPN reports.
On Tuesday morning, mayor Ion Ceban said that delays, disruptions and re-routing are possible. The responsible services are working on several road sections.
For additional information about the circulation of public transport, one can call the hotline of the Chisinau Electric Transport Company on 022 204 205 and the dispatcher’s office of the Urban Bus Company on 022 837 317 or 022 558 071. Linear staff provides passengers with information about re-routing or unexpected stops.
Travelers are also encouraged to use the available mobile apps and GPS maps to monitor transport movement in real time.
On Monday, local authorities announced that due to the continuous snowfall and the need to intervene on the streets for several times, it was decided to suspend public transport, initially until 4 p.m. and then until the end of the day. However, on yesterday and during the night, several trolleybuses ran on the streets of the capital city to prevent the appearance of frost on the contact network.
The Chisinau Commission for Emergency Situations decided that kindergartens and schools in Chisinau will not work on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also, the activity of public institutions was stopped, except for those involved in snow and ice removal works and health care provision.
The population is urged to be cautious on the streets and in traffic, not to park vehicles under trees and to take into account the recommendations of the authorities. If there is no urgent need, citizens are urged to avoid traveling through the city, but also outside the municipality.
