Public talks on draft law on local finances
Public discussions on the verge of the draft law on public local finances will unfold this week in Chisinau and Balti, Info-Prim Neo reports. The draft was worked out by the Finances Ministry with the support of experts from the Council of Europe.
The goal of the debates is to present and discuss the concept of the reform of the local finances and the new draft law on local public finances.
On March 11, debates in which representatives of local administrations from the districts of Cahul, Cantemir, Leova, Causeni, Stefan Voda, Cimislia, Dubasari, Anenii Noi, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Straseni, Hancesti, Criuleni will take place in Chisinau. Also in Chisinau, on March 13, the debates will be joined by the local officials from Chisinau, Orhei, Telenesti, Soldanesti, Rezina, Calarasi, Gagauz autonomy, Basarabeasca and Taraclia. Their counterparts from Ocnita, Edinet, Briceni, Glodeni, Sangerei, Rascani, Floresti, Falesti, Drochia, Donduseni, Soroca and Ungheni are expected to meet on March 14, in Balti.
Each attendant will fill in an evaluation form of the financial, administrative and legal impact of the draft. The processed data will be used to change and complete the draft on local finances and other acts.
The public discussions are organized by the Finance Ministry and the Local Public Administration Ministry in partnership with the Center for Social and Investigating Entrepreneurship “Counterpart,” as part of the program named “Moldova’s Fiscal Decentralization.”
