The Public Property Agency has published its report for the first half of this year, IPN reports.
On the controversial concession of the International Chisinau Airport, the Agency said it verified the cost basis of the airport taxes collected by the concessionaire Avia Invest, without revealing what it has found and what has been done to terminate the concession per the government’s intention.
On another controversial concession, the one granted for the national network of bus stations, the Agency said “a performance bond has been established”. Also, the Agency obtained a pledge from the insurance company Moldasig to pay the public partner, i.e. the government, the 5 million lei owed under the public-private partnership agreement.
In total, the Agency monitored 45 PPP and concession agreements at local and national level. On behalf of the government, the Agency has played the role of founder in 129 state companies and stakeholder in 70 other companies.
In the first half of the year, the Agency has managed 227 legal disputes, initiating 14 new lawsuits and winning 14 out of 22 older disputes in court.
In administering profits and dividends arising from government interests in companies, the Agency has transferred to the State Budget 47.7 million and 57.1 million lei, respectively.
Also in the reporting period, the Agency auctioned off four state properties, including 3 recreational compounds, for a total of 91.2 million lei.
