The Public Property Agency (PPA) has launched a new website. The institution assures that the information will be updated in due course. Also today, the training platform for members of the boards of state-owned enterprises was presented, IPN reports.
The website presentation event was hosted by Expert-Grup, Soros Foundation Moldova and the Public Property Agency. The Agency’s director Roman Cojuhari said that the management of state patrimony and assets is the main mission of the institution he leads. As the state property is practically the property of citizens, information about it must be as accessible as possible to the general public. According to him, a large volume of work was done in the elaboration of this page, with a lot of new, relevant and interesting information for the general public being placed. The new website is a tool for easier administration and keeping of record of the state patrimony.
Adrian Lupușor, executive director of Expert-Grup, said that it is a web page that will serve as a model for other public institutions. The page was developed in close cooperation with the PPA’s staff, who also worked hard to provide data, to systematize this volume of data, including on state-owned companies, public property, but also on performance and governance indicators of state-owned companies.
“I hope that in a year’s time the effort will be continued by updating this information. Let's be realistic, it is an opportunity to provide the public with this complex information, but it is also a challenge for the future to keep this web page updated. It is an effort to make the public property sector more transparent. Expert-Grup remains open to continue to be a partner in this process of promoting corporate governance in the public property sector,” said Adrian Lupușor.
Executive director of Soros Foundation Moldova Daniela Vidaicu said that for more than 32 years, the foundation has been supporting projects and initiatives in the field of decisional transparency. “Together with the PPA and Expert-Grup, we created a revolutionary page. It contains a lot of information of public interest, which can be accessed by the citizens, civil society, the mass media and to ensure that we can analyze how public property is managed,” stated Daniela Vidaicu. The management and privatization of state property are complex and comprehensive processes that require everyone to combine forces. The website also includes an online opportunity platform for members of boards and executive bodies of state-owned enterprises, which contains five training modules for these members.
The event took place within the project “Technical assistance for the Public Property Agency and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization in adopting the best international practices and standards in the field of corporate governance of state-owned enterprises”.
