Approximately 5,000 police officers will maintain public order in cemeteries and the adjoining areas on Low Sunday. Mobile posts with radar equipment will work on a number of national and local roads. The speeding drivers will face fines or may be even disqualified from driving for a period of five years. The number of roads that will be patrolled by the police will be doubled, IPN reports.
Head of the General Police Inspectorate’s Public Security Division Marin Maxian told a news conference that the police officers will also patrol the parking areas near cemeteries in order to avoid thefts. The people who will go to cemeteries on Low Sunday are recommended to make sure that their apartments and houses are safe, to take care of the personal belongings and to avoid conflict situations amid drinking bouts. The gun owners are asked to keep the firearms in special places and not to leave them within anyone’s reach.

The section of Doina St between Socoleni St and the entrance to Saint Lazarus Cemetery will be closed for private vehicles so as to reduce congestion. The drivers and pedestrians are asked to obey the instructions of the police.
