The most complex section in the Action Plan on visa liberalization between Moldova and the EU is concerned with public order and security. Daniela Morari, division head at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a round table Tuesday that this is the section that also involves the greatest costs, Info-Prim Neo reports. The visa liberalization is composed of four sections, and the third is dedicated to public order and security. According to Daniela Morari, all the sections imply exemplary cooperation between several institutions, but the third section also stipulates a set of actions, which are also expensive. This section includes everything related to special investigation measures. In the field of organized crime, this requires a lot of equipment and cooperation between the law enforcement bodies such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Prosecutor General’s Office and others. “The block includes everything that concerns MAI’s responsibilities and actions, meaning organized crime, institutional reform, fighting drug dealing and human trafficking, equipping forensic labs and so on”, said Daniela Morari. The thirst section of the plan refers to the security of documents, the second one to migration and borders and the fourth section refers to human rights. Daniela Morari noted that the Transnistrian issue isn’t anymore a condition for the visa regime negotiations. The EU focused its attention on two aspects: document security and the management of migration flows through the Transnistrian segment. Work is being done in this regard to find solutions. Moldova finished the first stage of the plan’s implementation, which stipulated the adjustment of legislation. 42 legislative initiatives have been approved. The second stage that follows means the implementation of these laws.
