Public lighting in the capital city will be turned off one hour earlier, at 6am, and will be turned on one hour later, at 8pm. This is provided in a decision adopted by the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the municipality of Chisinau. At the request of the Ministry of Internal Affairs or other central public authorities, street lighting will be switched on, IPN reports.
The heads of institutions and enterprises managed by the Chisinau City Hall will work out plans to optimize energy consumption, primarily in the rush hour: between 7am and 11am and between 6pm and 11pm, but without affecting the safety and activity of employees or the functioning of essential services.
There will be disconnected the installations that are not vital for the technological processes and do not affect the security and health of citizens. Depending on circumstances and special conditions, public lighting will be turned off at night and/or on nonworking days.
