A group of young activists expressed their dissatisfaction with the visit paid by the first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Vlad Plahotniuc to the United States as the executive coordinator of the Council of the ruling alliance. In this connection, the young people staged a public event in front of the U.S. Embassy in Chisinau, where they demanded that the U.S. authorities should arrest Vlad Plahotniuc, IPN reports.
The young people brought with them placards with different messages by which they accuse the PDM of involvement in the bank fraud and in a scheme to smuggle drugs through the agency of Moldova’s Post Office.
One of the civic activists Ecaterina Pitel said the young people want Vlad Plahotniuc to be arrested, while the U.S. officials should not give signals that they support this government that was installed at midnight, against the people’s will. There are sufficient reasons for the Democrat to be arrested. One of these is the smuggling of anabolic steroids, including to the U.S. Four cases of deaths caused by these drugs are known.
The civic activist also said that the young people are dissatisfied with the fact that Vlad Plahotniuc discussed with U.S. officials as the executive coordinator of the Council of the ruling alliance and that this said that he represents the Government and the alliance’s Council.
“I came here to inform the Embassy of the U.S. and the United States that there is a mafia member now on their territory and this is Plahotniuc. We came to make public all his wrongdoings and to ask that this should be arrested, if it’s possible,” said activist Maria Madan.
The young activists transmitted a letter to the U.S. Ambassador in Chisinau James Pettit whereby they ask for the U.S. authorities’ assistance in arresting Vlad Plahotniuc.
