At least 100 representatives of the national minorities will benefit from free legal aid from the public association Roma National Center during October 1, 2020 – July 31, 2021 in the framework of the project “Justice for the Roma and Other Ethnic Minorities”. The project forms part of the program “Improving Access to Justice for Citizens” that is implemented by the Millennium DPI Partners.
In a press release that is quoted by IPN, the Roma National Center says the project aims to fight the negative attitudes to the Roma and other ethnic minorities in Moldova, to reduce discrimination against the Roma and to improve their access to justice so as to ensure equal rights for everyone. Another goal is to raise the people’s awareness of the barriers to justice and equality faced by the Roma and other national minorities.
Within the same project, 30 community mediators and leaders of ethnic minorities will be trained to assist persons whose rights are violated and to improve the access of the Roma and national minorities to justice.
For legal assistance, the persons can write to the email address bitcaolga@gmail.com or can call 061084908 between 9am and 9pm.
