A psychological counseling bureau was inaugurated at the Special Police Brigade “Fulger” of the General Police Inspectorate. This is the 39th office of the kind that provides specialized psychological services to police officers, IPN reports.
According to deputy chief of the General Police Inspectorate Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, the project that was launched a year ago is welcome. The positive effects of psychological counseling are evident. “If the police officers are always in a good psychological condition, they will act correctly and will provide appropriate services to the people, being calm, correct and obeying the law,” he stated.
Renato Gigliotti, the representative of the delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany, which supported the project, said that progress has been made since 2010, when the development of the police infrastructure started. “Broth in Moldova and in Germany, this profession is not at all simple. It is important to maintain their mental state and state of health and to counsel the police officers after operations with post-traumatic effects so that they easier integrate into the professional activity,” stated Renato Gigliotti.
The psychological counseling bureau at the Special Police Brigade “Fulger” of the General Police Inspectorate was opened with support from the Federal Republic of Germany, which allocated €12,000. Since their inauguration, the 39 bureaus provided services to over 6,000 police officers, which is over 50% of the police force.
