“We will ultimately bring to an end this counterproductive discussion launched in society under the name of unionism,” executive secretary of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), MP Vlad Batrîncea stated in a news conference held near the monument to ruler Stephan the Great and Holy in Chisinau. According to him, the PSRM will take over the best practices from the friends from over the Prut, where the Senate of Romania banned by law the calls to dismemberment of the state and any attack on the national security and territorial integrity, IPN reports.
“We will protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. We will restore the History of Moldova in schools. The citizens of the Republic of Moldova have the right to study the history of their state. We do not have another state and other interests. We do not want to take territories from other states. We do not urge the neighboring states to give us land. We do not want war with someone. We want to live at home, peacefully. We want to consolidate the Republic of Moldova. That’s why after the parliamentary elections, the Socialist group that will be a majority one will propose a set of laws aimed at strengthening statehood and at defending our sovereignty,“ stated Vlad Batrîncea.
“We have independence, sovereignty, but we see that something goes wrong in this country and want to improve things. We indeed saw the appearance of more organizations that promote separatism, unionism and what’s bad for the Republic of Moldova over the past few years,” said Socialist candidate for MP Nicolae Pascaru.
MP Fiodor Gagauz said the citizens of ATU Gagauzia always criticized the unionist tendencies and scenarios aimed at destroying the state, as it happened 100 years ago.
Vitalii Evtodiev, Socialist candidate in single-member constituency No. 48 Slobozia, Tiraspol and Bender, said unionism has never been accepted and will not be accepted on this land. During almost 30 years, the country has been torn apart and time has come for this to be reunified and restored to its former glory.
The Party of Socialists runs in the national constituency under No. 4 on the ballot. It also has candidates in all the 51 single-member constituencies.
