Prime Minister Maia Sandu, by deciding to personally designate the future General Prosecutor, is deliberately trying to cause the government to fall, while still being in an emotional state generated by the loss of the elections in Chișinău, but also being unable to effectively manage the executive and deliver the results expected by the population. This opinion was expressed by the Socialist Party, in a press release.

According to the PSRM, the political subordination of the General Prosecutor's Office, through the personal appointment by the prime minister of the future General Prosecutor, is unacceptable in the context of the implementation of justice reform. The Socialists said that the bill of the PAS leader "flagrantly violates the agreement signed between the ACUM bloc and the PSRM, which clearly stipulated that in the context of justice reform, the selection of the General Prosecutor will be carried out via contest, by a commission, not by a politician".

In the near future, the parliamentary Socialist group and the PSRM Republican Council will convene, which will deliberate "in order not to allow the country to slip into total crisis due to the actions of irresponsible and immature politicians", the statement said.

Today, November 6,  the government took responsibility for amending the Law on the Prosecutor's Office, so that the prime minister will be responsible for preselecting the candidates for the position of General Prosecutor.
