The Socialist parliamentary group proposes annulling the Baccalaureate exams this year. In a press briefing, MPs Nikita Țurcan and Marina Radvan said the proposal was formulated in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic so as to avoid the risk of mass infection among students and teachers and also because a large part of the lessons this year were held online, IPN reports.
The MPs suggest applying last year’s method and calculating the lyceum graduation grades based on the average grades for the last three years of study. The lyceum students who intend to continue their studies at universities abroad can choose to take the Baccalaureate exams. The mechanism will be worked out together with the Ministry of Education.
The Socialists also propose annulling the graduation exams for ninth graders and for vocational school students.
