The MPs of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) suggest that the persons in need should be offered by 100 lei a month following the rise in bread prices. They registered a bill providing that the pensioners and recipients of social benefits with monthly incomes lower than 3,000 lei will get such support, IPN reports.
“The Government on October 1, 2021 increased the minimum pension to 2,000 lei for 428,000 persons, by 366 lei on average. This is an increase of only 20%. This rise is much lower than the 25%-27% rise in the average prices of bread alone,” said the Socialists.
The authors of the bill noted that the state is obliged to take measures for any person to enjoy decent living conditions. In Moldova, there are 612,800 recipients of pensions and state social allowances that add up to less than 3,000 lei a month.
