The National Integrity Agency (NIA) will convince itself that there is no incompatibility between the unpaid post of president of the public association Chess Federation of Moldova and the post of President of the Republic of Moldova, the Party of Socialists (PSRM) said in reaction to the information about the Agency’s checks featuring ex-President Igor Dodon, IPN reports.
In a press release, the party says there is a previous NIA decision ascertaining that there are no incompatibilities in relation to the held post of president of the Chess Federation of Moldova that is not remunerated. “Immediately after the office of President was won in 2017, the presidential institution asked the NIA by an official request to determine the existence or inexistence of the state of incompatibility between the position of President and that of president of the Federation. Consequently, the NIA informed that as the post of president of the Chess Federation is not remunerated at the public association, there is no incompatibility,” said the PSRM.
In a synthesis issued on February 8, the NIA says that its Integrity Inspectorate on February 1-5, 2021 started a check over the non-observance of the legal regime of incompatibility by the former President of the Republic of Moldova.
