The Executive Committee of the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) has launched a campaign to prepare for the national plebiscite proposed by President Igor Dodon, IPN reports.
At the September referendum, the people will be asked if they are for or against the abrogation of the law that transforms the funds emblazed from the banking system into state debt, if they want the President to be given more powers to dissolve Parliament, if they want the number of MPs to be reduced from 101 to 71 and if they support the inclusion of the History Moldova course in the school curriculum.
The National Council of the PSRM, which meets on July 25, will be requested to adopt a decision on the provision of full support for the organization and holding of the referendum. “The PSRM will manage to obtain the holding of early parliamentary election and to promote the initiatives aimed at consolidating statehood by all the available means,” the party says in a press release.
