PSRM invites ACUM bloc to form coalition in 11 districts and in Chișinău

Following the local elections of October 20, the Socialist Party has the absolute majority in four district councils and a majority of councilors in 11 districts. The statement was made by PSRM chairwoman Zinaida Greceanîi at a press conference held on October 21. She said that the Socialist Party party made a coalition offer to the ACUM bloc to form a coalition in 11 districts where the PSRM has a majority. Vlad Batrîncea, chief of PSRM electoral staff for the municipality of Chișinău, asked the ACUM bloc to create a coalition with the Socialists in the Chișinău Municipal Council.

"We are now making an official invitation to ACUM bloc representatives", said Zinaida Greceanii.

The PSRM chairwoman said that PSRM candidates have been elected as mayors in the first round in 124 settlements, including in 12 cities. "We will likely have 179 mayors, including in 18 cities, after the second round of elections", said Zinaida Greceanii.

"The Socialists secured 22 out of 51 councilor seats in the CMC, while the ACUM bloc has 19 mandates. Together we will have 41 out of 51 councilors, which means we will have a comfortable, absolute majority. This will allow us to solve Chișinău's most pressing problems", said Vlad Batrîncea.
