The Party of Socialists said that against the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the drought that seriously affected farmers and the whole economy, the result obtained by the candidate whom they supported is almost equal to the winner’s score, with a minimum difference of 27,000, it was noted in the November 17 meeting of the party’s National Council.
The meeting, which involved incumbent President Igor Dodon, analyzed the situation in the economic, social, political and other sectors of Moldova and discussed the work done by the Chicu Government in the absence of a parliamentary majority, IPN reports.
It was also noted that the political destabilization can further affect the national economy and this will generate a social crisis whose costs will be huge for the Moldovans. In this regard, the National Council of the PSRM took a number of decisions, including to propose Igor Dodon for president of the party to the Congress. The 16th Congress of the PSRM is to come together until this yearend.
