PSRM asks Kozak to help Moldova obtain advantageous gas supply contract

The Russian side wasn’t provided by the Moldovan officials involved in the negotiations on gas supplies with other arguments than those concerning the delivery of natural gas at the market price, Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, stated in a meeting with a delegation of the Party of Socialists that asked the Russian official to intervene and help the Republic of Moldova obtain an advantageous contract with the Russian gas company, IPN reports.

In a press release, PSRM says such a request was made to Dmitry Kozak because the Moldovan citizens risk being seriously affected by the energy crisis and given the supreme interest to provide the Republic of Moldova with natural gas in the best conditions for the citizens at a time when the Moldovan officials holding talks with Gazprom are young and inexperienced.

PSRM noted it will further make effort for the relations between Moldova and the Russian Federation to be constructive and beneficial to the citizens of the two states. The Socialists also prepared a bill that enables to offer compensations to citizens and businesses so as to reduce the negative impact of the eventual rise in gas tariffs.
