The Party of Socialists (PSRM) is preparing to mount a large-scale protest in Chisinau on November 18 and expects tens of thousands of citizens to take part in it. The protest will be against the past nine years of governance. In the event, the party will present its political program and actions that will be taken until February 24, when parliamentary elections will take place, IPN reports.

Ion Ceban, secretary for ideology of the PSRM, told a news conference that the party so far organized protests at the local level where the candidates who will run in the legislative elections were presented.

Executive secretary of the Party of Socialists Vlad Batrîncea said there were chosen 38 candidates, but the discussions will remain open until the end of the election campaign. The candidates for all the single-member constituencies will be officially fielded by the party’s National Council. The PSRM declares itself the most important opposition force and the only alternative to the current government.

The members of the PSRM also said that more often representatives of the Democratic Party or its satellite parties attack the presidential office. The Party of Socialists is ready to react to the first call and to take to the streets to defend it.
