PSRM announces large protests

The Party of Socialists (PSRM) intends to mount large-scale protests to defend the statehood and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova. The Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon on a social networking site wrote that over the next few weeks Chisinau will witness the largest such protest, but this will be preceded by marches and meetings in different localities of the country, IPN reports.

The politician said the first event of the kind will take place in Comrat town on April 2, organized by the Executive Committee of Gagauzia. The PSRM intends to take part in all the events and will stage activities at local level and large nationwide events – from marches to intense meetings within councils, mayor’s offices and Parliament.

Igor Dodon described the march mounted by unionist NGOs in Chisinau on March 27 as an unprecedented attack on the statehood, independence, sovereignty and neutrality of the Republic of Moldova. According to him, all the participants in this event and those who allows staging it are offenders and traitors of the motherland and the people.

According to the PSRM, the diversity of opinions cannot and should not be taken into account in this case as such events are nothing but betrayal of the country’s interests.
