A majority consisting of 54 MPs was formed in Parliament, the head of the Socialist parliamentary group Corneliu Furculiță has announced. He noted that the majority was formed with the aim of supporting candidate for Prime Minister Mariana Durleșteanu, IPN reports.
The parliamentary majority consists of the Socialist MPs, the MPs of the Shor Party and the unaffiliated MPs who formed the For Moldova platform – Sergiy Sîrbu, Eleonora Graur, Ruxanda Glavan, Grigore Repeshchuk, Corneliu Padnevici, and Elena Bacalu. In depodnnet MPs Alexandru Oleincic, Vladimir Andronachi, Gheorghe Brashovschi and Eugeniu Nikiforchuk also signed the statement on the constitution of the majority.
“The relevant documents were transmitted to the President,” stated Corneliu Furculiță.
According to him, the majority was formed starting from the principle that in the democratic states, regardless of the form of government, the executive must express the will of the political majority constituted in Parliament. To be able to govern, this should enjoy the support of a parliamentary majority.
