The Party of Socialists (PSRM) and the Democratic Party (PDM) signed an agreement on the formation of a majority Social-Democratic parliamentary platform, IPN reports.
According to the president of the PSRM Zinaida Grechanyi, the agreement was signed as a result of days of negotiations. “This is an important decision for the social, economic and political development of the state,” she noted.
The agreement also envisions governmental reshuffles. Among the priorities set down in the agreement are the economic development, attraction of investment and development of infrastructure. “Special attention will be devoted to social protection,” stated the Socialist leader.
“By this document, we lay solid foundations of government in the Republic of Moldova and undertake to ensure the proper functioning of all the state institutions.”
According to the president of the PDM Pavel Filip, the Democratic Party decided to lend a hand in these difficult moments, when the Republic of Moldova goes through an unprecedented situation owing to the spread of COVID-19.
The politician said the PDM’s role in this government will be to ensure the implementation of the Association Agreement, coming closer to the European Union, maintaining of the territorial integrality, energy security, continuation of the strategic partnership with the U.S., maintaining of good relations with the neighboring country, Romania and Ukraine, and ensuring of a balanced foreign policy.
