If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM) and the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) would gain most of the votes, shows a survey carried out by the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul” in cooperation with the Centre for Sociological Surveys and Marketing CBS-AXA.
According to the poll, the PSRM would win 32.4% of the vote, PAS – 18.1%, the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” – 3.6%, the Democratic Party – 2.7%, the Communist Party – 2.6%, the Our Party – 2%, the European People’s Party of Moldova – 0.5%, while the Liberal Party – 0.3%, IPN reports.
The poll shows 10% of the respondents would not vote, while 26.7% could not say how they would vote or didn’t answer the question.
“The ratings of parties continue to be powerfully influenced by the presidential elections,” CBS-AXA vice director Vasile Cantarji said in a new conference held to present the survey results. He noted that the elections concentrate emotions, efforts and mobilization and parties that confronted these elections appeared in the forefront, while the parties that didn’t really become involved in the struggle remained in the back.
“We have a President who hasn’t yet worked for 100 days and these polls catch him, metaphorically speaking, in a moment of glory,” stated Vasile Cantarji.
The poll “Social tensions in 2017” was conducted between January 18 and 27 and covered a representative sample of adult Moldovans. The margin of sampling error is plus/minus 2.8%.
