The candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE) Vadim Brînzaniuc promises to build three overground passages and four express roads. According to him, this will help to decongest the city. The candidate also considers that the number of public units of transport should be increased and parking lots should be built at the entrance to the city for the personal cars to be left on the outskirts, IPN reports.
“Over the next four years, the municipality of Chisinau should purchase another 300 large-capacity public transport units and extend the capacity and area of movement of public transport. The public transport routes need to be diversified so as to ensure access also to small quarters, such as Poșta Veche, the area close to Meșterul Manole St, lower Botanica, Telecentru quarter, Buiucanii Vechi, “stated Vadim Brînzaniuc.
He said that as the head of Buiucani district back in 2021, he laid the basis for building a park and ride place on Ghidighici St, but this hasn’t been yet finished. “Such parking lots should be built at the entrances to the city. The lot in Buiucani should be finished and more such lots should be built on Șoseaua Hâncești St, at the entrance from Sângera St and the fourth should be built at the entrance from Stăuceni. This way, four parking lots with the capacity of at least 300 units should be built during four years. There, the people could leave their cars and continue travelling by public transport,” explained the candidate, noting that building parking lots inside yards of apartment buildings is also a solution to decongest traffic downtown.
Vadim Brînzaniuc considers the traffic can be eased by building express roads. “Over the next four years, we will build from scratch three road passageways at the most crowded intersections in the city. We will also build four express roads, radial roads that will enable the cars to cross the city from the west to the east, from the south to the north at a much higher speed, without staying in traffic jams,” noted the candidate.
As the draw decided, Vadim Brînzaniuc, of the European Social Democratic Party, will be the eighth candidate on the list on the ballot.
