PSD members join PDM
The head of Glodeni district Ion Movila and district councilors and mayors who are members of the Zonal Organization of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in Glodeni have announced their intention to leave the party and join the Democratic Party (PDM).
In a press statement issued to Info-Prim Neo on Monday, former Social-Democrats say that they are disappointed by the PSD’s unwillingness to support the unification of the Social-Democratic forces. They express their conviction that Marian Lupu and the PDM team that he heads play a special role in this process.
The signatories of the statement criticize the government for dividing the Moldovan society for electoral purposes and other political leaders that oppose the consolidation of the Social-Democratic segment.
“We, members of the district council and heads of the local organizations of the PSD in Glodeni district, after analyzing the social and political situation following the April 5 events, ascertained with regret that the center, Social-Democratic forces lost the elections because they ran separately. This separation was and is in the interests of the Communist Party, while the division of the voters into patriots and enemies of the people by this party split the society and sparked a real political war,” the statement says.
In a reply statement, the PSD leader Dumitru Braghis said that Ion Movila manipulates the people by misinformation and deception. He says that only Ion Movila and several other persons out of the over 1,200 members of the PSD in Glodeni confirmed that they leave the party.
“The PSD is bewildered at the fact that the press service of the PDM accepted to broadcast an announcement that is not accurate, without collecting facts and checking the information coming from the mentioned person,” Dumitru Braghis says in the statement.
