The leader of the Social-Democratic Party (PSD), Dumitru Braghis, has spoken out his concern with the fact that the parliamentary elections were accompanied by frauds and counterfeits, what has highly tensed the social-political situation in the country. On Monday, April 13, at a briefing, Braghis stated that the Chisinau authorities repeated the scenario applied after the 2005 parliamentary elections, when they accused the Russian secret services over getting involved into the electoral race. “This isolates Moldova internationally and seriously mars its image,” said the PSD leader, commenting on the April 7 turmoil and the accusations later evinced by the president in office Vladimir Voronin, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Social Democratic Party finds that the Communists Party (PCRM), instead of making efforts to stabilize the social-political situation, undertakes steady measures conducting to worsen the situation, split of society, induce fear and terror, reads a press release edited by Dumitru Braghis. In order to return to normal political competition, the PSD demands the PCRM to unblock the Internet, to halt tapping personal phones and correspondence, to halt airing video tapes instigating to fear and insecurity. The PSD draws the attention of the domestic and international communities that there is a split seen within the Moldovan society, as the citizens divide themselves into pro-Russian, pro-Romanian and pro-Moldovan – what can lead to an extremely dangerous civic clash. The Social Democrats put up a solution: they negotiate with their colleagues from Spravedlivaia Rossia from Russia and with the PSD from Romania, to secure the support of the presidents of Russia and Romania. The PSD wants those heads of states to set up an international group, which, in agreement with the Chisinau authorities, should investigate the events happened after the elections and to offer solutions to stop and overcome the Moldovan social-political crisis.
